Welcome to the 2008 soccer season
We have created an email distribution list to facilitate communication. Please let us know if you want to add any addresses as we plan for this to be the primary means of communication. Following is information about our team. Please read through and let us know if there are any issues or concerns we should be aware of. Practice
- Practices will be Wednesday 5:30 to 7 and Friday 4 to 5:30 at Vallecito
- Attendance is very important Please be on time. We will be there in advance and set up for a prompt starting time. The fields are booked tightly so we want to get the full practice time allotted to us. Let us know in advance if you can not be there.
- We will always have a practice plan focusing on a skill or certain technique. At this age specific skills are very important and position play is necessary. Since the practices will be progressive and specific to the prior weeks games it is beneficial to be at every one.
- Always come with cleats, shin guards, and a water bottle
- Participate 100%!
Players
We have 13 girls on our team this year. Since we play 11 on a side we are counting on a full commitment to practices and games. Having only two subs maximum means there will be very little rest time in games.

Games
- There are five Dixie U14 girls teams this year with about 13 players per team
- Arrive at least 30 minutes early. We will always have a game plan, positions, etc to review and to warm up.
- The season usually runs to the first weekend in November but this is subject to rain-out reschedules.
- We are inter-league so some of our games will be played at other fields in Marin.
- It is very important for everyone to remember to check the game schedule on a regular basis. Things happen along the way that may force us to reschedule game dates and times. Coaches
Glenn Cooper and Dan Easterlin are the coaches for our team this year. Glenn and Dan have coached together for several years and have experience coaching girls of this age level. Last year the team they coached together finished in first place overall for U12girls.
Glenn Cooper has been coaching soccer for the past 5 years, both boys and girls in ages U8, U10, U12 and now U14. He is on the Dixie Youth Soccer Association board as the U12Girls coordinator and has four children playing in the league this year. Glenn is was also on the San Rafael Girls Softball board as Minor League Commissioner this year and coaches softball in the spring and summer.
Dan Easterlin has been coaching various sports for several years. This year Dan has gone to great lengths rearranging his business commitments as part of his dedication to the team.
Both Glenn and Dan have soccer coaching license levels beyond the requirement for this level of play.
We will work hard to ensure everyone has fun, learns new soccer skills, gets equal play time, & maintains a positive attitude while enjoying a healthy competition. Hopefully the girls will make some new friends as well. At the end of the season, the measure of our success will be that every team member is eagerly looking forward to next season.
